AWR Competitions proposes the design of a new building inside the Golden Gate Park, San Francisco House of Music. The project wants to become an important link between the past and the present of the city.This new space, in addition to the Opera in the War Memorial Opera House, will be a place where new trends of classical and contemporary music will perform. The building will be a place where the community will be able to use the common areas and will enjoy the spectacles surrounded by the nature of the context.

Arch. Alfonso Medina Alfonso Medina was born in Longview, Texas in 1983. In 2008 he graduated from the Instituto Tecnólogico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) with a degree in architecture having also studied at the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya. In 2005 he established Taller 38, focused in real estate development and construction, which to this day has built over 40 different housing projects. In 2009 he established T38 studio, an architecture, design and research office based in New York City and Tijuana. In 2010 he graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC) with a Master in Design and Research. From 2011 to 2012 he led architectural design studios at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Tijuana and was an assistant professor and guest critic at SCI-ARC. He has been an invited critic at the AA, Pratt, UCLA and Columbia. From 2012 to 2103 he was a Visiting Professor in Architecture at the Ecole Speciale d’ Architecture in Paris. In 2013 he was awarded the Curbed Young Guns Award. |

Arch. Peter Strzebniok Originally from Germany, Peter is a licensed architect with experience working on a large array of projects in Europe, the US and Asia. He is the co-founder of nottoscale, an architectural studio based in San Francisco and Stuttgart that investigates prefabrication and the integration of design, interiors and architecture into a comprehensive design approach. He has been teaching design studios at the International Program in Design and Architecture at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and Woodbury University in Los Angeles. |
