ADA 2012 Architecture Dissertation Award



ADA 2012 - Architecture Dissertation Award is an annual international competition for Architecture final thesis projects,
promoted by AWR Competitions - Architecture Workshop in Rome. ADA 2012 awards the most outstanding thesis on the
topic of Housing.
The theme presented this year, is the archetype of the architecture for design concept. For centuries formal, technological,
functional and aesthetic search for housing has been in the middle of a multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural debate.

 

Arch. Lorenzo Tomas Gabarron - Spain


Lorenzo Thomas Gabarrón graduated at the School of Architecture of Seville, Spain in 2005.

Since 2008 he is professor of History and General Theory of Architecture I and II, and Architectural Design III and IV at the School of Architecture and Building Engineering of San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia. He is Secretary Professor and Coordinator of Department of Architecture. He is also Coordinator of many Workshops as "Architectural Intervention Strategies" and the International Architectural Design Workshop in collaboration with the School of Architecture at La Sapienza (Rome). He has held many conferences including: "Rafael Moneo: Projects" (School of Architecture Ludovico Quaroni, Sapienza University, Rome, May 2009); "The light in architecture" (Faculty of Architecture of the Instituto Superior Politecnico Jose Antonio Echeverria, Havana, November 2011); "Spanish Architecture in the Twentieth Century" (School of Architecture, University of La Sapienza, Rome, March 2012); "Project Haiti" (School of Architecture Polytechnic Institute, Milan, March 2012).

He has received several awards for his research as a special mention at the 14th Construmat Awards (2011) Innovation in Construction (Barcelona - May 2011).

In addition to his teaching and research work developed his professional career in the office Arquitectos_González_Tomás_Zueco THINK, based in Murcia. It is a multidisciplinary office with many residential and in public buildings projects, such as the Municipal Museum and the Archives of Torre Pacheco (Murcia).
